Various Appliances Used by an Orthodontic Specialist

These days, because of the recent advancements in orthodontics, more and more appliances are being used by orthodontics specialists. Before, most people are embarrassed to use these appliances, but due to these recent advances in technology and orthodontics, appliances used by an orthodontic specialist have become a “must-have” for people who are concerned with their appearance and hygiene.

Braces, in the early years are embarrassing to wear. Braces are made up of a wire, small elastic ties and silver brackets. In the early years of orthodontics, the silver brackets are cemented directly on the front of each tooth and the small elastic ties hold the wire to the bracket จัดฟัน. The length of usage for this treatment usually depends on how much the teeth of the user need to be removed. Users also need to use this for 16-22 hours each day, but, for optimum results, the user would need to use Invisalign for almost 22 hours per days.

You may have also heard your orthodontist recommending pendex aplliance or distal jet to you or to a family member. Well, these appliances were not made to correct the alignment of the teeth. They are used in order to correct a patient’s bite by means of pushing the upper teeth back.

Another common appliance used by an orthodontist is a space maintainer like Nance appliance or lower lingual holding. This is used in order to prevent unwanted shifting which is usually caused by early loss of the primary tooth.

Other appliances used by a specialist in orthodontics to improve the rate of growth of the jaws. These appliances include forsus, herbst and mara. These appliances work by applying a forward force to the lower jaw of the patient. These appliances are often used on children and adolescents.

There are still other appliances that orthodontists may recommend to you. To get these treatments and appliances, you need to go to an orthodontic office and get a consultation.
